From a BUP to the World of Business
How exactly do you go from a Bachelor of Urban Planning to founding a company which is one of the world’s leading, fully integrated, direct importers of premium-frozen seafood? Join us for an engaging presentation by Tom Mazzetta, the Founder and CEO of The Mazzetta Company, LLC. Mr. Mazzetta received his B.U.P. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and started a career in the seafood industry working at various companies. In 1987, he founded The Mazzetta Company, which his two sons have now joined, making it a true family-run business. Mr. Mazzetta has also developed a processing plant, lobster buying stations, and warehouse facilities. He serves as a board member for various organizations including Children’s Brittle Bone Foundation and Lake Forest Bank, and is a member of the executive board of the National Fisheries Institute. He currently resides in Illinois where he continues to be an enthusiastic supporter of the Fighting Illini.
