BAUP Admissions

Welcome!

Students may enter the curriculum leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Urban Planning either as freshmen directly from high school or as transfer students in the sophomore or junior year. The following high school courses are required for freshman admission: four years of English, three years of mathematics, two years of any one foreign language, two years of social studies, and two years of laboratory science.

A transfer student must have completed 60 or more semester hours (30 for transferring within the university) of acceptable undergraduate college work with an earned GPA of at least 2.75 (A=4.0). Applicants with less than a 2.75 average will be considered in special cases where strong career motivation and aptitude is demonstrated. The Department recommends that students with more than 90 hours already earned (or 135 hours if on a quarter system) complete their undergraduate degrees and apply to the graduate program in planning.
