UP420 - Planning for Historic Preservation

Overview:

Historic preservation in the context of urban planning, including legal issues and ordinances, economic incentives, comprehensive plans and preservation plans, public participation, media relations, and more.  Students will conduct a building survey including research and architectural descriptions for an on-going project in Urbana.  Tours of local preservation projects.

Please note: UP 420 is moving to the Fall semester beginning in 2014, so students may count on being outside to observe historic buildings in better weather.

At least Junior standing
